My Cherry in the Mirage Exhibition with the Contemporary Glass Society
I’m absolutely delighted to share that my blown glass cherry has been selected for Mirage: Glass in the 4th Dimension — a dazzling new exhibition at London Glassblowing, in collaboration with the Contemporary Glass Society, running from 6th to 29th June 2025. To be showing my work alongside 70 extraordinary CGS members is something I’m incredibly honoured by.

Inspired by a Mirage: My Dream Studio Made Real
My cherry was created in response to the exhibition’s theme of illusion, reflection, and shifting perspectives. For me, the most enduring mirage is the one I now call home — my studio, tucked beneath a giant oak tree, overlooking Cherry Tree Woods. For years, I dreamed of this space. A peaceful place immersed in nature, where I could work with glass, but stay in touch with the bustle of London. That dream felt like a distant vision — a mirage — until it slowly became a reality. The cherry I created is a tribute to that transformation.
It also connects to a long tradition of blown glass fruit — intricate objects that glassmakers have shaped for centuries. I love how they hold a sense of wonder, a timelessness, and something both playful and precious. My cherry balances that tradition with personal meaning: a small, glowing symbol of the space I worked so long to bring to life.

Mirage: Glass in the 4th Dimension
Curated by the Contemporary Glass Society and hosted at the iconic London Glassblowing gallery in Bermondsey, Mirage explores how glass manipulates light, colour, and space to challenge our perception.
“Glass can deceive and delight — with refractions, reflections, and illusions that draw people in.”— Will Budgett, London Glassblowing
It’s a perfect theme for the medium. Glass invites us to look closer, to see differently. It changes with the light, much like the woods outside my studio windows.
